Community Rep Selection – South Centre of Cork City
Are you interested in representing your community on Cork Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force? If yes, you or a representative of your community group are invited to a meeting on a community rep for the South Centre of Cork City on the CLDATF.
An open community meeting will be held in South Parish Community Centre, Sawmill Street, Cork on Thursday 10th May from 7.30 – 9.15pm.
The meeting will include a presentation on the work of the community reps on the CLDATF, a discussion on the reps role and the opportunity for you to participate in change in your community!
The open community meeting aims to promote the opportunity for interested individuals to become a community representative for the South City Centre area on the Cork Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force. Community representatives bring issues from their community to the Task Force table and act as a link between the work of the Task Force and the community. Becoming a representative means you can input into actions undertaken to tackle drug and alcohol misuse locally.
South Centre of Cork City includes the areas of Middle Parish/ Evergreen Street, City Hall A, Greenmount, Turners Cross A, South Gate, Gillabbey A, City Centre A & B (as seen on map in poster). Interested individuals who are involved in the community can apply for the position and engage in an election process.
The current community representatives on Cork Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force invite members of your group / agency / community who have an interest in representing the South City Centre area to attend the community meeting.
Tea coffee and cakes will be served on the evening of the 10th from 7.30-7.50 with a presentation on the role and opportunity to participate and the election process and question and answer session from 7.50 to 9.15pm.
Please feel free to display the attached poster in your agency, or to contact individuals or volunteers attached to your project who you think might be interested in the opportunity to represent their community on the Task Force.
