Community Representation for North West of Cork City
An open community meeting will be held in Knocknaheeny Youth Centre on 31st January from 7-9pm.
The meeting is hosted by Cork Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force.
The open community meeting aims to promote the opportunity for interested individuals to become a community representative for the North West of the City on the Cork Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force. Community representatives bring issues from their community to the Task Force table and act as a link between the work of the Task Force and the community. Becoming a representative means you can input into actions undertaken to tackle drug and alcohol misuse locally.
North West of Cork City includes the areas of Knocknaheeny / Hollyhill, Farranree, Fairhill, Blackpool and Gurranabraher. Interested individuals who are involved in the community can apply for the position and engage in an election process.
The current community representatives on Cork Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force invite members of your group / agency / community who have an interest in representing the NW area to attend the community meeting.
Tea coffee and cakes will be served on the evening of the 31st from 7-7.30 with a presentation on the role and opportunity to participate and the election process and question and answer session from 7.30 to 9pm.
Please feel free to display the attached poster in your agency, or to contact individuals or volunteers attached to your project who you think might be interested in the opportunity to represent their community on the Task Force.
Attendance at the event needs to be booked with Mella Magee, Cork City Partnership, tel 021 430 2310 email: mmagee@partnershipcork.ie
